The importance of my wand

Hello so I read the article about wand making and some of it got me a little curious and also - concerned. My nephew is a Harry Potter fan and last October he made me a wand out of magnolia wood. I didn't think much before ( mostly because I was with my non- magick - believing parents) but as I remembered studying before I remembered that the type of tree used can enhance the capabilities of a wand and wand user ( I think that's what I read when I was about 19). So I have two questions:

1). Is magnolia wood a strong wood type for a wand and if so is what does it symbolize?

2). Does my bond with my nephew infuse me and / or my wand .

Magnolia can represent strength, purity, loyalty in love, and beauty within the Victorian language of flowers.

There are also culture specific myths and legends surrounding it.

That your nephew gave it to you is lovely and I feel for this reason alone it is important.

What matters is if you consider your wand important.

You may wish to consider connecting more with your wand personally to strengthen a bond with it.

This is in my opinion best done simply by spending time with it.

To add to what Rose has already said, I'd suggest meditating with your wand. Focus on it and try to feel and connect with it. Wands (and other magical tools) have a funny way of connecting with the energy of their practitioner. You can also do a small blessing and dedicaton cermony for the wand to further connect yourself to it and any magical uses you plan to use it for.
