It's interesting how many people choose their patron to be Loki and Hela.
I suggest you reading more about Loki to really get to know him,from my own experience he really likes compliments on everything basically,he can be spoiled so make sure you make an offering to him before asking his presence.
I always make an offering to him before working with Loki,mostly it is a poem or a drawing writing in my blood or making a huge fire,also promise him this and that.
I find that Loki likes offerings such as coffee, chocolates, and child-like toys. When it comes to offerings, it's good to ask them what they may like as an offering or just wing it - give offerings and feel for an approval or disapproval of the offering. This would let you know what is ok and not ok to offer.
Loki can be a bit touchy-feely, but you always have the right to state your grounds on what is and isn't ok.
I've worked with many gods since I decided to no longer be a Wiccan. I started with Eastern Pantheons, Grecian deities, and a few Celtic deities. No group of divinities had more of an active and alive feeling to them as the Norse/Germannic Pantheons. I really began to be more of a spiritual and religious person after descovering the connections I felt to the gods.
That being said you can imagine that I am rather emotionally close to some deities. Loki's personality and nature has always interested me. I've given him offerings, and I have tried working with him. He just simply has very little interest with me. That's not a bad thing or a good thing. I am aware of him, and I honor him.
Perhaps try working at Loki a bit more, but also scope out other deities of the Northern pantheons.
So, I was lying in bed, and said "Loki, if you have a minute, feel free to stop by."
It was a little while before I really felt anything, so I just started talking.
I was rambling really, and then...I felt several sharp pokes in my side in response to my saying I felt hollow/numb. I won't burden you all with my problems, but I think that was Loki saying "You're not numb. You can feel this right?" without the words xD
The conversation turned to lighter topics after that, but I could feel something, well, warm. It was an amused feeling. I'm really happy that he's decided to take SOME form of interest in me, and cannot wait to work and speak with him in the future!

That sounds wonderful, Im happy for you. I remember my first connection to Loki I was so happy and very shocked at the same time, he opened my eyes quite a bit.
